Microsoft has made Windows 11 Preview Build 22624.1470 available on the Beta Channel.

Microsoft has already released updates for the release preview and dev channels this week. A new preview update is now being distributed to the Beta and Canary channels. The new update is available in the Beta channel as Windows 11 build 22624.1470.

As is customary, the update to the beta channel is available in two builds: Windows 11 build 22624.1470, which contains all changes, and Windows 11 build 2222621.1470, which contains limited features. Both updates are labeled with the KB build KB5023780.

Let’s see what’s new in the most recent update.

  • View the tree of USB4 hubs and devices that are connected.
  • Examine the USB4 domain’s attributes and capabilities.
  • Copy the information to the clipboard and share it with customer service or system administrators for troubleshooting.

To easily copy required codes, notifications containing 2FA codes now include a new copy button.

Windows 11 build 25295

When the device is connected to a VPN profile, the update now displays a visible VPN status (a small shield on top of the WiFi icon) in the System Tray.

The new update includes the ability to display seconds in the clock on the System Tray.

Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23419 update

These are the only changes in build 22624.1470. Let’s take a look at the differences between the two builds.

When the Windows theme is set to a custom color, the search bar on the Taskbar will now be lighter.

[Live captions]

  • We fixed the issue causing live captions to not work for Chinese Traditional on Arm64 devices.

Fixes for BOTH Build 22621.1470 & Build 22624.1470

[Search on the Taskbar]

  • Fixed rendering issues when using the touch keyboard with the search box on taskbar.
  • Fixed an issue when double clicking the search highlight glyph in the search box makes it disappear.
  • Fixed an issue where the search box would randomly disappear.
  • Fixed an issue where the search icon flips incorrectly for right-to-left (RTL) languages.
  • Fixed on issue where you might have seen some text flicker in the search box when you click into it.
  • Fixed an issue where the search box might disappear on one monitor if you are using multiple monitors.
  • Made some accessibility fixes to the settings for search under Settings > Personalization > Taskbar.

If you were on the previous beta channel update, your PC will be updated to the new build automatically. A 22624.1470 or 22621.1470 build is available. If you receive build 22621.1470, you can upgrade to main build 22624.1470.

To manually check for the update, go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for Update.
