The latest snapshots introduce a variety of new content, featuring fresh mob variants for beloved farm animals, such as pigs, cows, and chickens. A new biome-specific variant of sheep will also be available, showcasing unique colors like white, brown, and black while maintaining their original designs.

In addition to these animal variants, players can anticipate a bouquet of new floral additions, including Wildflowers and Cactus flowers, as well as two new types of dry grasses. The previously scrapped mob idea, Fireflies, will now also be integrated into the Minecraft universe.

This update will introduce a plethora of new features that enhance gameplay, including atmospheric sounds, leaf litter, imaginative firefly bushes, and the mesmerizing animations of falling leaves. These elements were revealed in the snapshots and the Bedrock Preview build released on February 12, 2025.

2. Upcoming Features in Minecraft 2025

Pig Variants: Welcome the new Warm and Cold pigs, adorned with distinct appearances tied to their habitats. Warm pigs will be found in Savannas, Jungles, and Badlands, while Cold pigs will roam Taigas and Windswept Hills.

Cow Variants: The cow population expands with the introduction of Warm and Cold cows. Warm cows boast dark reddish-brown coats and unique horns, while Cold cows will feature light brown coats, thick fur, and forward-facing horns.

Chicken Variants: Chicken aficionados will be thrilled with the addition of Warm and Cold chicken variants. Warm chickens will exhibit golden-brown feathers and lay brown eggs, while Cold chickens will sport bluish-grey fluffy feathers and produce blue eggs.

Dry Grass Variants: The desert and Badlands biomes will see the addition of two new dry grass types — available in both tall and short forms. These can serve decorative purposes or aid sheep in regrowing their wool.

Wildflowers: Brighten your Minecraft landscapes with the new Wildflowers, which resemble cherry blossoms and can be used for crafting yellow dye. Bone meal can also expedite their growth.

New Lodestone Crafting Recipe: Crafting lodestones just became simpler! The updated recipe now requires only an Iron Ingot along with eight Chiseled Stone Bricks.

Pale Garden Changes: The Pale Garden biome will see enhancements, including revisions to the Creaking and Eyeblossom flowers. Moreover, Name Tags can now be utilized on Creaking flowers, keeping them active even during daylight.
Additional Changes: This update includes various minor tweaks such as new testing command blocks, bug fixes, and refined sound effects for iron blocks and desert environments.
