MKBHD warns viewers about this expensive iPad Pro M4 variant

The recently announced iPad Pro versions featuring the M4 chip have been confirmed. Before making a purchase, remember to take into account the recommendation from YouTuber Marques Brownlee regarding a specific iPad Pro model to avoid.

During the Let Loose event on May 7, Apple unveiled their latest iPad Pro models featuring an OLED display and M4 chip. These new tablets are truly remarkable, boasting superior hardware compared to all other tablets currently on the market. However, tech guru Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) advises against purchasing the variant with Nano-texture glass if you are considering buying one.

The iPad Pro has a matte version known as nano-texture glass, which is specifically created to minimize glare. This is particularly beneficial in brightly-lit environments where the glossy screens of iPads can act as reflective surfaces.

In his latest YouTube video, MKBHD expressed caution in ordering the iPad Pro with Nano-texture glass. He noted that although it effectively reduces reflections, it also sacrifices some sharpness and contrast, similar to the desktop version.

The YouTuber highlighted that the Nano-texture display does not display blacks as deeply, and also expressed concerns regarding its durability. They also mention their doubts about the display’s durability, noting that the Pro Display XDR is sensitive to the type of microfiber cloth used and can be easily damaged if the wrong one is used.

For those who are unaware, certain Studio Display, Pro Display XDR, and iMac models are equipped with Nano-texture glass. Apple advises that these models should only be cleaned with the microfiber cloth provided in the box. It is important to note that using any other type of cloth to clean the nano-texture glass is not recommended by Apple, as stated on their support website.

The price is another factor to consider when purchasing the Nano-texture variant. As the YouTuber correctly notes, the iPad Pro with Nano-texture glass is only offered with 1TB or higher storage options, which begin at a steep $1899 for the Wi-Fi plus cellular model.

The latest iPad Air can now be purchased together with the OLED iPad Pro models.
