Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 6: The Return of The Haunting Event

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone have confirmed that Season 6 will commence on September 18, also announcing the return of The Haunting event.

The Haunting of Verdansk Halloween event in 2020 quickly became popular, allowing players to transform into zombies upon death, creating a mini-outbreak during matches instead of the standard battle royale format.

In 2022, Rebirth of the Dead revived this concept, introducing enhanced powers and abilities for zombie players. The following year, Operation Nightmare brought back the event with additional innovations.

While Activision has not yet detailed the features of this year’s event, the first trailer offers some hints.

Modern Warfare 3 has introduced Michael Myers from the “Halloween” horror movie franchise as an operator. Coincidentally, Mike Myers shares his name with a long-standing community-created game mode in Call of Duty.

In this mode, one player wields a knife while others must evade them until time expires. The player who survives the longest then becomes Myers in the next round. Experiencing this mode with an actual Myers operator skin would be exhilarating.

Additionally, we caught brief glimpses of other operator skins based on collaborations with the “Terrifier” and “Smile” horror franchises. This ties in perfectly as the third “Terrifier” film premieres on October 11, followed by the new “Smile” movie on October 18.

Moreover, several Halloween-themed operator skins have been unveiled for the new season.

In the previous iteration of Warzone within Modern Warfare 2, players encountered various supernatural creatures, and this time they will face a formidable Ghost Zombie monster featuring three heads.

Stay tuned for updates, as Activision is expected to release a preview blog regarding the upcoming seasonal update.
