Some Xbox players of Mortal Kombat 1 have reported experiencing crashing errors, buggy textures, and other significant problems after the July 23 update.
On July 23, NetherRealm Studios released a patch for Mortal Kombat 1 that introduced compatibility for DLC characters Takeda and Ferra.
The PlayStation 5 update for the same set of changes was around 12GB, while Xbox users posted screenshots of a 120GB download.
Previous issues with Fortnite updates led some users to point the finger at Microsoft’s backend. Some also suggested that the update may have unintentionally deleted MK1, resulting in the need for players to download it again.
Despite downloading Mortal Kombat 1’s July 23 patch on Xbox, the trouble did not stop there, as seen in a post circulating on the Mortal Kombat subreddit. The original poster reports encountering numerous errors after installing the update.
MK1 is shit on Xbox right now. Screw NRS. byu/Virtual-Can-9948 inMortalKombat
The Reddit user claims that the game is currently plagued with bugs, such as characters freezing in a T-pose on the select screen and during tutorial mode, as well as glitchy textures in special moves. They also mention being unable to play online due to the game consistently crashing whenever a match is found.
Furthermore, according to PS5 users in the thread, there have been no significant problems reported aside from the small update size being confirmed.
Some Xbox owners agreed with the OP’s statement and mentioned that they have also been experiencing errors while playing Mortal Kombat 1.
According to a comment, someone has been experiencing difficulties joining online games for the past two days. They mentioned reinstalling the game, but it did not resolve the issue.
Another user reports that the only area that has been significantly impacted for them is online. They have encountered crashes and have been unable to enter matches when trying to play.
Another fan expresses their disappointment in not being able to play as Takeda, the premium guest fighter who was added to the roster on July 23rd.
Despite this, not all Xbox owners are experiencing the same issue, as several users in the thread have stated that the game is not broken for them.
Currently, the root cause of the issues affecting certain Xbox users remains unidentified. NetherRealm has yet to acknowledge the reported glitches.
