A Heartfelt Gift: The Creation of the Bionic ‘Beast Arm’
Kai was born without a right hand, which did not deter him from engaging in various sports and immersing himself in video games. Unfortunately, as he transitioned to middle school, he became a target for bullying.
“People usually try to tell me what I can’t do, ” reflected the young boy, highlighting the challenges he faced.
While Kai’s adoptive parents explored options for prosthetics, they encountered obstacles when health insurance refused to cover the expenses. Although they initiated a crowdfunding campaign, it ultimately proved unsuccessful. It was only after MrBeast’s team learned of the situation that a positive outcome was possible.
In collaboration with Open Bionics, a US company known for creating bespoke prosthetics and having partnered with Disney on similar projects, MrBeast helped develop a unique design that embodied his brand aesthetics. This design featured the panther logo and vibrant hues of blue and pink.

When Kai arrived at the clinic under the impression he was there for a routine checkup, he was completely taken aback when MrBeast walked in and presented him with the ‘Beast Arm.’
“He kept whispering, ‘Mama, is this real? Is that really MrBeast?’” recounted Charlotte Pollnitz, Kai’s adoptive mother, capturing the moment’s magic.
