As the January 19 deadline to ban TikTok loomed, a number of prominent entrepreneurs, including MrBeast, publicly expressed their intentions to acquire the platform. On January 13, he tweeted: “Okay fine, I’ll buy TikTok so it doesn’t get banned.”

MrBeast took concrete steps towards this goal by flying on a private jet to meet with prospective investors on January 20, signaling his serious intent to proceed with the purchase. During his flight, he shared his excitement with his audience, stating: “TikTok, I’m on a private jet right now about to put in my official offer for this platform. I might become you guys’ new CEO. I’m super excited. I wish I could say more about the offer I’m putting in, but I can’t for now. Just know that it’s gonna be crazy.”

The following day, an update from Paul Hastings Law Firm indicated that they are advising a group of investors with an all-cash offer ready to acquire TikTok, further highlighting the seriousness of MrBeast’s venture.
