MTG Artifact spikes over 300% due to Modern Horizons 3’s new creature

The price of Ashes of the Fallen has increased from $3 to $13.30 due to players realizing the significant boost it provides to the performance of the Graveyard Overdrive deck.

Disa the Restless leads the Graveyard Overdrive Commander pre-con and her ability synergizes seamlessly with Ashes of the Fallen to maximize the potential of the Lhurgoyf archetype.

Despite being an uncommon Creature type, Lhurgoyfs are still cherished by the MTG player community.

Tarmogoyf, the most iconic Lhurgoyf, was once the most coveted card in Magic aside from the Power Nine, thanks to its immense power.

Despite its absence from the Graveyard Overdrive deck, Tarmogofy’s impact is still evident as Disa generates Tarmogoyf tokens through combat.

WotC

Disa and Ashes of the Fallen revive Lhurgoyfs by providing a powerful, albeit restricted, graveyard recursion ability. When any Lhurgoyf card enters your graveyard from anywhere other than the battlefield, Gisa can immediately put it onto the battlefield without any extra cost.

Despite their added support in the pre-con, Lhurgoyfs are still limited in number within Magic, making them the only drawback to this ability. However, the specific timing of Ashes of the Fallen allows Disa’s effect to be triggered on any Creature that enters the graveyard from outside the battlefield.

Ashes has the ability to turn your Creatures into Lhurgoyfs as soon as they enter the grave, causing them to be included in Disa’s effect and allowing them to populate the field without any cost.

Ashes of the Fallen has experienced a significant increase in value before. The card was originally printed in the Saviors of Kamigawa set in 2005 and has not been reprinted since.

Despite the limited availability of reprints for Ashes of the Fallen, its strong potential for graveyard synergies makes it a card worth monitoring.
