MultiVersus announces Joker with Mark Hamill reprising iconic role

When MultiVersus is released, Mark Hamill will return to his iconic role as the Joker and join the roster for the game.

In November 2022, MultiVersus revealed its final roster addition before going on a long hiatus. The addition was Looney Tunes’ Marvin the Martian. Currently, WB and developer Player First Games are increasing their marketing efforts in anticipation of the free-to-play fighter’s upcoming release.

Furthermore, the Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime, has joined the battle. WB Games announced this update through a reveal trailer, which showcased the Joker’s MultiVersus design.

A significant detail to note is that Joker will be the 24th character to join the game’s playable roster. Players will be able to access him on the game’s release date of Tuesday, May 28 later this month.

WB Games also announced in a press release that actor Mark Hamill will be returning to his role as the Batman villain, which he has previously voiced in Batman: The Animated Series, Rocksteady’s Arkham games, and various other animated projects.

Following the passing of beloved Batman actor Kevin Conroy in 2022, Hamill made the decision to no longer continue his role as the Joker. In an interview with Empire Magazine in 2023, the actor stated, “Without Kevin, there is no Batman for me.”

As Conroy had already completed recording his lines for MultiVersus, Hamill’s Joker will still have his Bat in this specific project. The duo of Conroy’s Batman and Hamill’s Clown Prince will make their final appearance together in the third part of Crisis on Infinite Earths, which will be available on digital platforms and Blu-ray in July 2024.

MultiVersus is scheduled to debut on May 28 for PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox One, and Series X|S consoles.
