Today (18th) Netflix’s original series “My Goddess Roommate Doona”held a production press conference. Directors Bae Suzy, Yang Sejong, and Lee Jung Hyo attended the event.
“My Goddess Roommate Doona”is adapted from Min Song-ah’s webcomic “The Reason I Fall in Love with My Sister”. It tells the story of an ordinary college student who meets a gorgeous but retired K-POP idol in a share house. A romantic love story about people who are not in love but can’t help but fall in love with each other.
In the play, Bae Suzy plays the lead singer and central member of the popular idol group “Lee Doona”, who suddenly announces her retirement one day and lives in a shared house in a university town; Yang Sejong, an extremely ordinary college student “Lee Wonjun”, has a warm and pure heart The inner heart provided a place for Li Dou Na.
In order to play the role of a college student in his early 20s, Yang Sejong said that having laser beard hair removal was really painful! He also said: “I also did a lot of half-body baths and facial masks. I am now 3 kilograms fatter than when I was filming the TV series. I will never look like this in the TV series, so don’t worry. I have put a lot of effort into the appearance part, because usually Suzy and the director have seen her appearance, and they will say something to me.”
This work is also Yang Sejong’s first work after retiring from the army. He said: “Before filming the work, I felt a brief but strong sense of burden, and I filmed with the mentality of reading the script as soon as possible.”He also revealed: “In addition to filming,, this kind of situation is the most stressful. Although I don’t know why, I feel much better than before joining the army.”
“My Goddess Roommate Doona”is directed by Lee Jung-hyo, the director of “Romance is an Appendix”and “Crash Landing on You”, and is written by Zhang Liuxia. It will be released on Netflix on the 20th.
