On Monday, June 10, 2024, @DabisPoleDance (aka Ever), a trusted source for My Hero Academia franchise news and leaks, shared character visuals for the highly anticipated fourth movie. The reveals featured the new original characters who will play significant roles in the film. The updates were originally posted on X, which was previously known as Twitter.
According to Ever’s post, the recently released character visuals for the My Hero Academia fourth movie highlight the new characters Dark Might, Anna Scervino, and Giulio Grandini. Dark Might is set to play the role of the antagonist in the film, while Giulio and Anna seem to be supporting characters who are on the same side, based on what is currently known about them.
The upcoming fourth My Hero Academia movie, titled You’re Next, will take place during the same time period as the currently airing seventh season of the anime. This means that the movie will be set shortly after the fall of “safe society,”but before the next major conflict between Pro Heroes and Villains that is the focus of the seventh season.
My Hero Academia Fourth Movie Reveals Dark Might’s Inverted All Might Costume in New Character Visual
Along with the updated character designs for the original characters in the fourth My Hero Academia movie, the voice actors for the trio have also been officially announced. Kenta Miyake, known for his role as All Might, will be lending his voice to the character of Dark Might in the film. Mamoru Miyano will be portraying the role of Giulio, a butler in service of the Scervino family, and Meru Nukumi will voice Anna, the daughter of the Scervino family.
At the time of writing this article, little is known about Dark Might’s character. However, this could be attributed to the film’s desire to keep his origins and true identity a secret until its release. This intention is reinforced by the limited plot information currently available, which deliberately avoids revealing Dark Might’s background and true identity.
The fourth My Hero Academia movie is scheduled for release in Japan on August 2, 2024. It is anticipated to be one of the last two films in the franchise, if not the final one. The manga is also nearing its conclusion, adding to the belief that this could be the last film. Additionally, the pacing of the current seventh season suggests that the remaining story may be adapted into a movie rather than another season on television. However, this is simply speculation at the time of writing this article.
Kohei Horikoshi, the author and illustrator of the original My Hero Academia manga series, started serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014. The manga is currently ongoing and regularly serialized, but it is currently in its epilogue and is anticipated to conclude sometime this year. As of now, 410 out of the 425 chapters have been published, and these have been compiled into 40 volumes, with 38 volumes translated into English.
