Despite being in the midst of a Championship race with the Dallas Mavericks, NBA star Luka Doncic has also proven himself as one of the world’s top players by climbing to the Top 500 in Overwatch 2.
It can be mind-boggling to think that famous athletes are actually just ordinary gamers like the rest of us. It’s possible that you may even unknowingly play with some of these athletes online. But imagine excelling in both their sport and a video game at the highest level – that’s truly impressive.
Despite his impressive skills in Overwatch, Luke Doncic proved to be no slouch when he encountered a streamer in a Grand Master lobby. He even recognized the streamer before revealing his identity.
To be honest, one must possess a certain level of commitment to Overwatch in order to not only be familiar with that particular streamer, but also achieve a spot in the Top 500, which he recently accomplished.
Doncic shared a picture of his Top 500 Tank rank on his Instagram story on May 8, following a win. This is a remarkable accomplishment considering that he is likely occupied with preparations for the upcoming playoff match.
We do not have concrete knowledge of Doncic’s specific rank, however, based on the small portion of the Grand Master emblem visible on the left side of the image, it is highly probable that he is in the GM rank.
It should be acknowledged that the basketball prodigy achieved a Top 500 ranking while playing on a laptop, despite not having the optimal gaming conditions for the most competitive ranks.
It is possible that this was not Doncic’s first time being in the Top 500, as he has been seen playing in Grand Master lobbies since last year. However, it can be confidently stated that he excels in both Overwatch 2 and basketball, surpassing the skill level of most individuals.
