This year, Netflix has been experiencing a remarkable surge in both films and series. Get ready! Alice in Borderland Season 3 is set to premiere on Netflix on September 25, 2025.
The wait for this season has been lengthy, but unlike other shows with quick turnovers, Alice in Borderland has always taken time to develop. The first season debuted in December 2020, and although it was renewed shortly thereafter, fans had to wait until December 2022 for Season 2. This next installment may have an equally long gap, but the expectations are high for a rewarding experience.
Netflix has teased that “the uncharted journey led by the mysterious Joker card is about to unfold.”
The official synopsis offers a glimpse into the plot: “After Usagi is abducted by a mysterious scholar obsessed with the afterlife, Arisu is thrust back into the treacherous Borderland to rescue her. Joining forces with new challengers, they must confront the unknown Joker stage in a desperate quest to return to their original world.”
If you haven’t yet watched the show, it is based on Haro Aso’s acclaimed manga and follows Arisu (played by Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (portrayed by Tao Tsuchiya) as they navigate a desolate, parallel Tokyo, where they must compete in deadly games for survival.
While it may draw comparisons to Squid Game, Alice in Borderland stands apart as a full-fledged dystopian sci-fi thriller with inspirations from titles such as Battle Royale and The Maze Runner.
Though its audience numbers have remained robust, it has often gone unnoticed compared to other Netflix juggernauts. As of now, you have 41 days to catch up on the first two seasons of Alice in Borderland. The countdown is on!
