New Analogue Pocket Colors Celebrate 90s Nostalgia

Analogue is set to launch a new collection of limited-edition colors for its beloved Pocket handheld, drawing inspiration from Nintendo’s Game Boy Color.

Analogue has been actively releasing an impressive array of variants for its Pocket handheld. From glow-in-the-dark options to aluminum editions, this retro portable console has showcased a variety of eye-catching styles and colors.

Now, Analogue pays tribute to Nintendo’s Game Boy Color with its freshly announced limited edition handhelds.

Revealed on the official Analogue Pocket X/Twitter page, the boutique gaming brand has introduced the ‘Analogue Pocket: GBC Colors Limited Editions.’ This new series of retro color schemes captures the essence of the original GBG Colors from the nostalgic 90s handheld era.

The new handhelds, which evoke a sense of nostalgia, come in six vibrant colorways: Kiwi, Dandelion, Teal, Grape, Berry, and Gold. These shades not only reference the original Game Boy Color palette but also share similar names. Unfortunately, the famous ‘Atomic Purple’ transparent variant is absent from this lineup.

Equipped with robust features, the handheld remains a top choice among retro gaming fans. Unlike other handhelds such as the Miyoo Mini+, the Analogue Pocket utilizes FPGA technology to deliver superior emulation capabilities.

Boasting a 3.5-inch LCD display, it emulates games from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and the Game Boy Advance. Most notably, it supports cartridge play, ensuring an authentic Game Boy Color experience.

The new GBG Colors Edition of the Analogue Pocket will retail for $249.99, available starting September 12 from the official Analogue website.

Anticipation builds as shipping for these striking handhelds commences shortly after, on September 16.

Similar to previous versions of the Analogue Pocket, these limited editions are expected to sell out quickly. We recommend acting fast to secure your piece of Game Boy Color nostalgia.
