In an exciting development for gamers, Black Ops 7 introduces an enhanced iteration of the body shield mechanic that debuted in BO6. This new feature allows players to attach grenades to their enemies, effectively transforming them into mobile explosives.
On September 22, enthusiasts were given a glimpse of Black Ops 7’s multiplayer mode just ahead of the anticipated gameplay showcase at CoD Next. This reveal highlighted various features including the innovative Overclock system and a variety of launch maps.
Among the highlights were several unexpected announcements. Notably, players will now find it considerably easier to unlock weapon camos, requiring fewer headshots than in previous iterations. However, a standout addition was undoubtedly the Grenade Body Shield Finisher, which promises to be a hit among players looking to have a little fun at their opponents’ expense.
Introducing the Explosive “Grenade Body Shield Finisher”
The mechanics of using a human shield have evolved significantly. Instead of the previous outcomes where enemies were either shot by their own teammates or released, Treyarch has introduced a more spectacular finish. Once you’ve utilized your target, you can initiate a finishing move that attaches a live grenade to their back and sends them hurtling forward. A few moments later, the grenade detonates, eliminating the unfortunate human shield along with any nearby foes caught in the explosion.

This innovation paves the way for new strategic gameplay options. Standing in the open to absorb damage, only to retaliate by using an enemy as a human grenade, could force opposing teams to rethink their tactics. The prospect of counter-play adds an exciting layer of strategy to battle scenarios.
Moreover, the Grenade Body Shield Finisher will undoubtedly appeal to players who enjoy taunting their adversaries. Previously, using a human shield proved an effective method for catching unaware teams off guard, but attaching an explosive for a dramatic exit only compounds the humiliation.
Players eager to experience this thrilling mechanic will not have to wait long, as it is scheduled to appear in the Black Ops 7 beta commencing on October 2.
