Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has opened up about the daily challenges he faces from online trolls, highlighting that he is often criticized for no longer commanding the same level of viewership on Twitch as he once did.
Once a titan in the streaming world, Ninja’s reign peaked during the explosive popularity of Fortnite when he regularly topped Twitch’s viewership lists. Known for collaborating with A-list celebrities such as Drake and Travis Scott, he quickly became the face of Twitch, amassing over 19 million followers at his height.
Despite his incredible success, Ninja’s trajectory shifted dramatically when he transitioned to Mixer, Microsoft’s now-defunct streaming service. Although he returned to Twitch after Mixer’s closure, his viewership has not rebounded to its former glory. Unfortunately, this downturn has become a frequent topic of mockery from trolls.
The Impact of Online Trolls on Ninja
In a recent interview with the BBC, Ninja spoke candidly about the relentless trolling he endures, stating, “I think I’m the only streamer on the planet who was pulling 100, 000 viewers [per stream] consistently. But now I get like seven or eight thousand across Twitch and YouTube.”
Ninja went on to explain, “That’s something the internet and trolls remind me of every day. The last couple of years have been rough; I’m getting berated online literally every day.” This candid admission shows the often unseen pressures faced by top streamers following a decline in popularity.

Beyond the negativity, Ninja has been a pioneer in the multistreaming trend, simultaneously broadcasting on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok alongside Twitch. His efforts in this area demonstrate his adaptability and commitment to engaging with his audience across multiple platforms.
As per data from TwitchTracker, Ninja currently averages around 2, 000 viewers on Twitch. His highest viewer count in the past year occurred in December 2024, peaking at 34, 000 viewers during a Fortnite session. Ninja remains dedicated to Epic Games’ battle royale but occasionally explores other games like League of Legends and Marvel Rivals.
Despite experiencing fluctuations in popularity, Ninja’s influence on the streaming community and his resilient spirit continue to inspire aspiring gamers and streamers alike.
