Xbox Revamps Achievement System with New Designs and Complete Highlights

Microsoft has unveiled an exciting refresh to the Xbox Achievements feature, introducing new customization options and an enhanced visual appeal. This update aims to provide users with a platform to emphasize their gaming accomplishments while tailoring how these achievements are showcased on their profiles.

Currently, these features are available to select Xbox Insiders, with plans to expand this rollout to a broader audience before a full public release. The enhancements are designed to “make it easier to celebrate your accomplishments and curate your profile, ” according to Alex Charters, Senior Product Manager at Xbox, in a recent official blog post.

Enhancements to Xbox Achievements

This update introduces a visually appealing redesign alongside a set of customization features. Users will now enjoy the ability to conceal certain games from their profiles as well as a stylish indicator reminiscent of PlayStation’s Platinum trophy that signifies 100% game completion.

One of the most notable upgrades includes a new visual effect for rare or classic Achievements. When these accolades are unlocked, they will now shine with a distinctive gleam, enhancing the sense of accomplishment for users, while regular achievements will retain their traditional appearance. This feature adds a sense of prestige for those who attain tougher challenges.

Furthermore, Achievements will now reflect the selected profile color for Xbox Insiders, allowing them to enhance their profiles with personalized hues. This customization feature adds a layer of individuality to each user’s achievement display.

Highlighting Full Game Completions

In addition to the visual upgrades, Xbox will begin highlighting fully completed games within users’ Achievement lists. This feature allows users to easily showcase their achievements, with completed games appearing bolded and highlighted on their profiles, making them more noticeable to friends and fellow gamers.

As an additional benefit, later this month, gamers will have the ability to hide games from their Achievement history. While hidden games will still contribute to the overall Gamerscore, they will remain invisible on the user’s profile. This can be particularly useful for those casual games played by young family members, allowing gamers to curate their profiles more carefully.
