Nobara and Yuji’s Near Success with Oppappi in Jujutsu Kaisen

The Internet is abuzz with spoilers for the highly anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268, causing a frenzy among the fandom. According to these spoilers, the chapter not only concludes the epic battle between Ryomen Sukuna and the Jujutsu Tech sorcerers, but also brings about a heartwarming reunion between the beloved trio of the main characters in the series.

Despite this, the standout moment of the chapter was when Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki attempted to pull off the series’ beloved “Oppappi”gag on Megumi Fushiguro. This catchphrase, famously coined by Yuji upon his miraculous return to Jujutsu High after facing certain death, has become a fan-favorite among readers.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji and Nobara’s Third Attempt at Oppappi after Freeing Megumi

According to the rumored spoilers for the upcoming chapter, Yuji Itadori successfully rescued Megumi Fushiguro from Ryomen Sukuna’s grasp, effectively concluding the Shinjuku Showdown.

In addition, the chapter included a humorous reference to one of the most beloved and comical moments in Jujutsu Kaisen. As followers of the series may recall, Yuji had famously surprised Megumi and Nobara before the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event, having apparently perished in front of Megumi’s very eyes.

Despite the overwhelmingly positive and tearful welcome from his friends, Yuji’s prank of yelling “Oppappi”at the top of his lungs backfired as neither Nobara nor Megumi approved of his reappearance in such a manner, making the moment even more hilarious for onlookers.

The second reference to this comical moment occurred in chapter 267 of Jujutsu Kaisen, where Nobara’s unexpected return left Yuji speechless as she playfully taunted him with her signature “Oppappi”catchphrase.

Following Megumi’s liberation from Sukuna’s grasp, Gege Akutami revived the humorous “Oppappi”prank one last time. Nobara and Yuji were caught attempting to play the joke on their comrade.

Upon awakening at Jujutsu High, Megumi was surprised to see Yuji pushing a cart with Nobara inside. They seemed to have a plan to surprise Megumi, similar to how Yuji had attempted to shock them earlier but failed in a hilarious manner. It was clear that Nobara was about to jump out of the cart and yell “Oppappi,”adding to Megumi’s confusion.

Additionally, it may be of interest to fans that the term “Oppappi”(alternatively spelled as “OPP”) is an acronym for “Ocean, Pacific, Peace.”This is derived from a famous routine performed by Japanese comedian Yoshio Kojima, in which he exclaims the phrase and strikes a one-legged pose.

Yuji and Nobara’s attempt to surprise Megumi with another “Oppappi”can be seen as the iconic prank coming full circle. This moment also offered some necessary comedic relief to the story, particularly after the intense emotions experienced during the Shinjuku Showdown arc.

Following the September 2, 2024 release of chapter 268, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga will conclude with three more chapters on September 30, 2024. As the story appears to be leading towards a positive ending for the characters, fans can anticipate more heartwarming and humorous moments in the upcoming chapters.
