Nobara may still be alive, but Jujutsu Kaisen fans won’t get the return they wanted if Gojo truly is back

The latest spoilers for chapter 260 of Jujutsu Kaisen have sparked a lot of discussion among devoted fans of the series. A particular panel suggests the possible return of the presumed dead Satoru Gojo, leaving many eager to see if he will indeed make an appearance in the upcoming chapters and join the battle against Ryomen Sukuna. This raises the question of whether Nobara Kugisaki, who was tragically killed by Mahito during the Shibuya Incident arc, will still be needed with Gojo’s potential return as a powerful Jujutsu sorcerer. Only time will tell.

Despite theories from the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom, it is believed that Nobara is still alive due to a comment made by Kyoto student Arata Nitta during the Shibuya Incident arc. However, with the current state of the battle against Ryomen Sukuna and the anticipated return of Gojo, it is unlikely for Kugisaki to make a comeback. Bringing her back at this point in the manga would diminish the tension and be seen as a mere ploy to please fans.

The recently revealed spoilers for chapter 260 have sparked speculation about the potential resurrection of Satoru Gojo, leaving the anime and manga community in shock. While this development introduces new consequences to the story, it also renders any potential comeback for Nobara Kugisaki pointless.

Despite her death during the Shibuya Incident arc while battling Mahito, many fans held onto hope that Nobara was still alive. This belief was fueled by a brief exchange between Kyoto student Arata Nitta and Yuji Itadori, where Nitta suggested that Nobara may have a chance to be treated. However, fans were cautioned not to get their hopes up. This small exchange gave fans hope that Nobara could potentially make a comeback.

Despite Sukuna being cornered by Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo and pushed to his limits, fans were eager for Nobara to return and aid in the battle. However, if Gojo is indeed alive and able to fight, the sorcerers’ victory is almost certain, making a potential Nobara comeback seem like a mere appeasement for fans.

The Legacy of Nobara’s Character

From the very beginning of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Nobara’s personality and decent abilities as a sorcerer left a strong impression. As she continued to develop and even contributed to Yuji’s victory against the Cursed Wombs and mastered the Black Flash, fans eagerly anticipated her future growth.

During the Shibuya Incident arc, Nobara was taken out by Mahito and is currently absent from the story, presumed dead. Although author Gege Akutami has the ability to revive her character, bringing her back would require significant progress in terms of plot and character development to make her return meaningful. As of now, her role and growth have come to a standstill.

Final thoughts

The potential reappearance of Satoru Gojo in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga could lessen the significance of Nobara’s comeback, as she would no longer be necessary to defeat Ryomen Sukuna. With Yuji and Todo successfully trapping the centuries-old sorcerer, the intervention of a fully capable Gojo would likely bring an end to the ongoing conflict, given Sukuna’s weakened state.
