The Shibuya Incident arc in Jujutsu Kaisen left the majority of the fanbase in shock with the deaths of Kento Nanami and Nobara Kugisaki. Despite this, when Arata Nitta stated that there was a possibility for Nobara to survive her injuries, fans held onto the belief that the beloved character would make a comeback in the story.
As the series approaches its conclusion, fans have been eagerly urging Gege Akutami for any updates on Nobara’s situation and if she will eventually make her highly anticipated comeback.
Despite Gege briefly bringing back Nobara in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265, fans were disappointed to learn that she will not be joining Yuji in his fight against Sukuna. The context of her reappearance officially solidified her tragic fate.
Nobara’s Death Confirmed in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 265
Despite the slim likelihood of her survival due to the severity of her injury, fans never lost hope of Nobara Kugisaki making a comeback in the series and taking part in the ultimate showdown against Sukuna. However, their hopes were shattered with the supposed spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265, which hinted at Nobara’s final appearance in the manga.
According to the supposed spoilers, the next chapter will primarily revolve around a dialogue between Yuji Itadori and Ryomen Sukuna within the former’s Domain, which remains an enigma due to the limited information available about it.
During his monologue towards the end of the chapter, Yuji recalls the people who were important to him and had passed away since he became a Jujutsu sorcerer. As he reflects on their faces in the panels, one in particular surprises many as it confirms that Nobara had lost her life to her injuries long ago.
Despite Gege Akutami’s vague hints at Nobara’s possible demise in the Shibuya Incident arc, fans held onto the hope that she had somehow survived and was recovering behind the scenes.
Some fans took it upon themselves to come up with theories about Nobara’s potential return. They speculated about her potential involvement in the final showdown against Sukuna in the current Shinjuku Showdown arc.
Despite the existence of various theories, none of them can be confirmed at this point as Gege appears to have confirmed Nobara’s death in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 265.
Despite their initial hope for Nobara’s return, many fans are now expressing their grief over her demise on social media. Some had already caught onto the hints dropped by Gege and had foreseen the character’s fate.
Despite the lack of information regarding Nobara’s fate throughout the series, it is not surprising that some fans still refuse to believe that the character is deceased. Amongst the fandom, it is an unwritten understanding to never accept a character’s death unless it has been officially confirmed.
Sadly, this was not the situation for Nobara Kugisaki. Fans were not given the opportunity to properly say goodbye to her and were also led to believe that she was still alive, which adds to the tragedy of her death.
