The main focus of criticism was on the actors’ vocal skills, as numerous users believed they were not adequately prepared to tackle the difficult song.

The group provided an explanation for their name, prompting one user to comment, “He received backlash because of his incompetent company…”suggesting that some netizens believed NuNew and his fellow actors were unjustly placed in a challenging position by their management team. Although all the actors faced scrutiny for their performance, NuNew received the majority of the criticism. Netizens highlighted NuNew’s singing ability and argued that he was not given enough opportunities in the cover.

“NuNew is an extremely talented singer,”remarked one user, “giving him only the rap part was wrong… His vocal range could’ve helped the cover, especially with some of the harder notes throughout the song.”

This latest controversy surrounding the cover has sparked renewed conversations about the way management companies treat artists and the challenges faced by performers in the entertainment industry.

Despite the ongoing debate on social media, it is uncertain how NuNew and his fellow actors will react to the criticism and whether they will acknowledge the accusations of being deliberately set up for failure.

Recently, YG Entertainment unveiled a teaser for BABYMONSTER’s upcoming music video “SHEESH,”prompting comparisons to BLACKPINK Lisa’s solo debut, “LALISA.”

The teaser suggests a sophisticated and dynamic concept, leading some BLINKs to notice similarities to BLACKPINK’s signature style. Certain fans are speculating that YG is trying to emulate BLACKPINK’s achievements with their new group, BABYMONSTER.

Worries emerge regarding how the song will be received and its influence on the group’s debut. At the same time, the presence of other rookie groups such as HYBE’s ILLIT adds to the pressure for BABYMONSTER to make a powerful impression.
