One of House of the Dragon’s Best Characters Missing in Season 2

Despite the upcoming finale of House of the Dragon Season 2 this Sunday, viewers have taken notice of a certain character who has been noticeably absent from the screen.

Despite speculation, the absence of the charismatic Corlys Velaryon from House of the Dragon has nothing to do with Daemon’s lost time spent wandering the haunted halls of Harrenhal. It simply leaves viewers questioning why they haven’t seen more of him.

Despite being the Master of Driftmark and having chosen to side with Team Black during the Targaryen Civil War, Corlys has not played as large of a role as expected. Despite his frequent appearances in House of the Dragon Season 2, some fans are confused as to why the TV show has not utilized his character more.

Throughout Season 2, Corlys has been frequently seen strolling around the Gullet shipyard, which has been barricaded to prevent access to King’s Landing. Other than engaging in brief discussions with Rhaenys, Addam, and Alyn of Hull, he doesn’t seem to have much else on his agenda.

“A Reddit user inquired, “Where has he been all season?”This question sparked a discussion among other users, with some speculating that he may have been supervising the docks while others jokingly suggested he was simply wandering around the docks.”

“According to one user, he is constantly rebuilding the same ship and having the same conversations. The user also noted that the man seemed to have moved on from his wife’s death rather quickly, adding a playful “lol”at the end.”

Another person chimed in, stating “Unfortunately, my wife has passed away. But now I must return to the shipyard for my weekly duties. This man is the Hand of the Queen and has not had a conversation with Rhaenyra even once.”

“Another person pointed out that he feels like an NPC that has yet to be interacted with, stuck in a time loop endlessly working on his ship until the right prompt is given.”

Some voiced their opinions, saying: “Bro needs to ensure his boat is prepared for the 78th time this year.”And: “It’s disappointing that there isn’t a single scene of him as a ship captain.”

“Another person mentioned having talked to Alyn about 50 times. Despite Addam’s claim to Seasmoke, one would expect Corlys and Addam to be quite intriguing. However, it seems that their interactions consist of nothing more than uncomfortable glances, declarations of quitting, and words of congratulations.”
