World Economy Newspaper Headquarters
The chapter opens at the World Economy Newspaper Headquarters, where Morgans, Wapol, and Vivi are gathered. Morgans is visibly enthusiastic as he prepares the headlines that will instill fear in people all over the world. The headlines read, “Law vs Blackbeard,””Kid vs Red Hair,”and “Straw Hat’s Murder of Vegapunk.”
Despite being interrupted and called a liar by Vivi, Morgans remains unfazed. He is frustrated by her lack of fear towards his threats, while Wapol tries to calm her down.
Despite the world potentially sinking, Morgans remains unconcerned as his true home lies in the sky. He believes that this may be his time to thrive.
Cut to Egghead
The panel then shifts to Egghead, who shows Sentoumaru crying as he departs the island on a small boat. Akainu can be seen attempting to contact the Marines, but there is no response. Eventually, Kizaru awakens and answers the call. This causes confusion in the panel as it is unclear whether Kizaru was also incapacitated before Akainu’s call. However, he is the only Marine who is able to respond at the time.
Kizaru informs Akainu that he plans to have the young marines report once they are awake. Akainu expresses concern about the safety of Saturn and the Power Plant and criticizes Kizaru’s performance. In a serious tone, Kizaru asks if Akainu has ever had to kill his closest ally. Akainu is unable to answer the question.
In the flashback, we witness Kizaru recalling the first day he met Vegapunk. He remembers how Vegapunk began constructing the Egghead and other inventions, causing Kizaru to become overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears. As Akainu doubts his skills, Kizaru becomes both angry and saddened, shouting back at him in defense.
Akainu is taken aback by Kizaru’s tone and immediately apologizes. However, Kizaru is still overwhelmed with emotion and asks Akainu to stop talking, stating that it is too late for an apology.
Meanwhile in the Elbaf Ship
The scene shifts to the Elbaf ship where the Straw Hat crew is shown unwinding with some drinks. Despite their somber mood, they decide to have a feast. Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and Chopper are seen tending to Lilith who is resting on a massive sofa, making them appear tiny in comparison. Suddenly, Lilith awakens.
Chopper expresses his joy upon seeing Lilith awake. Nami inquires about Lilith’s well-being while Sanji attempts to reach her via phone. Lilith glances around in amazement and checks her earpiece. Usopp updates Lilith on the events that took place and informs her that they are currently aboard the enormous vessel.
Usopp cautiously explains that they were only able to rescue Lilith and offers his apologies. Nami adds that Atlas accidentally hit Lilith on the head, causing the incident. Lilith reassures them that she understands the situation, as she had already been informed beforehand. Sanji expresses his confusion.
Lilith’s behavior becomes strange as she begins to cry like a child. She insists that they allow her to cry. Usopp questions which aspect of Lilith is meant to be malevolent. Out of nowhere, Lilith declares that she is feeling hungry. Sanji remarks on how quickly she became hungry and wonders if it’s because she no longer feels a connection with York.
According to legend, Lilith is able to have the giants prepare food for her. Brook notes the somber atmosphere at the giant’s table. The panel then reveals a despondent Luffy eating a large grape. Luffy is filled with sorrow as he remembers his failed promise to save the apple man, despite being a powerful yonkou.
Chopper reveals that Luffy is also in a grave condition, having only consumed five bunches of grapes. Lilith, overwhelmed with emotion, admits to having already mourned for the death of everyone. She argues that death only exists in their perception, as all of them are still alive and only considered dead by their own definitions.
Chopper inquires if they had transformed into ghosts, but Lilith quickly corrects herself and states that they have fulfilled their promise. Therefore, there is no reason for anyone to feel down, especially when addressing Luffy. His spirits are lifted after Lilith’s reassuring words and he joyfully jumps onto the deck. Luffy expresses his gratitude to the giants for their assistance and they all celebrate with a feast and drinks.
Usopp informs Zoro on the Sunny that Luffy has returned to his usual self. The crew, along with Lilith, join in on the celebration. Robin embraces Chopper tightly, almost like a cuddly toy. She brings up Elbaf and Saul in the conversation, which brings a smile to Chopper’s face. Meanwhile, the giants share with Luffy the information they learned from Vegapunk. According to Vegapunk’s broadcast, the individual who discovers the one piece will have the power to change the world.
He asks Luffy who he thinks will become the King of Pirates. Luffy responds by asking why he is being asked this question. Luffy confidently states that nothing can stop him from achieving his dream of becoming the King of Pirates.
The story tells of a ship that set sail towards the northeast, headed for the fabled land of the giants. In the final panel, we are shown Warland Elbaf, where a figure can be glimpsed standing on the shore. The enigmatic individual beckons and says, “Come.”
The editor leaves a message informing them that they are expected on the island of the giants. The chapter concludes.
