One Piece Confirms Imu’s Gender, But No One Notices

It is believed that Imu will be the ultimate antagonist in One Piece, but fans have limited knowledge about this character, including their gender. However, it has recently been revealed that Imu’s gender was initially lost in translation.

One Piece is known for its numerous mysteries, one of which surrounds the speculated final antagonist, Imu. While it has yet to be officially confirmed, all clues suggest this as a strong possibility. Additionally, the very existence of Imu is considered the greatest taboo in the world.

The primary purpose of promoting the establishment of the World Government is to foster a world where all individuals are treated as equals.

Despite their corrupt nature, they have been known to engage in heinous acts such as human trafficking and genocide. Oda has attempted to conceal Imu’s true identity, but it was ultimately revealed in the Japanese version, which was not accurately translated.

Which One Piece chapter revealed Imu’s gender?

According to a Japanese native translator on Twitter/X, the dialogue of Ivankov in the unedited version of One Piece Chapter 1086 confirms Imu’s gender as male. The use of the honorific “聖(sei)”after Imu’s name, as opposed to “宮(guu)”used for Shalria, further supports this.

The translator also notes, “Ivankov referred to Imu as “Imu Sei of the Nerona family,” indicating that Imu was likely male when the current World Government was formed.”

It is a frequent occurrence for details to become lost during translation, which is why Japanese YouTubers and theorists frequently clarify these concepts on social media. According to Ivankov, it is believed that Imu’s name is “Saint Imu of House Nerona.”

It is also believed that Imu possesses immortality. Ivankov alludes to a power that can bestow eternal youth, possibly the Op-Op Fruit. He speculates that this devil fruit must have been utilized by someone in the past.

Despite this, the mystery surrounding Imu’s gender persists among One Piece fans and will only be resolved when their true identity is revealed. However, it would not be unexpected for Imu to be revealed as a man, as there are already hints pointing in that direction.
