Pokémon Scarlet and Violet offer a true open world experience. Find out in what order to beat Arenas, Dominants and Team Star members for an optimal gaming experience.
For a quarter of a century, the Pokémon franchise has offered us games following a fairly direct progression where the player progresses from city to city, from arena to arena. However, with Pokémon Scarlet and Purple, things took a completely different turn. Trainers now have the opportunity to explore Paldea as they wish, in a much less linear adventure than what Game Freak had accustomed us to.
However, this new freedom introduces additional complexity. Throughout your adventures, it is entirely possible to come across wild Pokémon or opponents whose power greatly exceeds you. Conversely, if you explore certain areas too late, they may prove to be of no interest, your Pokémon being much superior to those you will encounter in the wild.
For these reasons, it may ultimately prove more enjoyable to travel through Paldea following a well-defined path, which we are preparing to share with you. To help you in your adventure, we have classified the Arenas, Dominants and members of Team Star by level. In addition, you will find the team that will work with you at each stage in order to prepare you as best as possible.
Order of Gyms, Dominants and Team Star members in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple
As a reminder, progression in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is based on three main storylines, each requiring you to face distinct challenges:
- Objective Stardust (Team Star) – Investigate the group of students threatening the Academy
- The Path of the Master (Arenas) – Become the best trainer in Paldea
- A scent of legend (Dominant Pokémon) – Collect secret Coins from dominant Pokémon
Here is the ideal order in which you should complete these tasks if you are looking for the most linear and balanced experience possible:
- Insect Arena – Sevaro
- Dominant Roche: Roche-Falaise – South Zone n°3
- Arène Plante – Cuencia
- Dominant Flight: Vast Sky – West Zone n°1
- Dark Team Lair – West Zone #1
- Electric Arena – Levalendura
- Fire Team Lair – East Zone No. 1
- Dominant Steel: Steel-Trench – East Zone No. 3
