Overwatch 2: A Cheeky Response to Concerns About Juno Being Better Than Mercy & Lucio

The latest hero for Overwatch 2 has been unveiled and initial feedback from players suggests that she resembles a more advanced version of Mercy and Lucio. Surprisingly, the game’s official social media account shares this sentiment.

Juno, the latest support hero to join the game, possesses unique abilities that allow her to fly, accelerate allies, and heal her teammates. As a result, she has been compared to other characters who possess similar skills.

“According to Skiesti, a popular Overwatch content creator, Juno’s combination of speed and an ultimate that simultaneously heals and boosts damage is enough to rival the abilities of Lucio and Mercy. This statement was shared by Skiesti on social media in a post from their account, which can be found at this link.”

The Overwatch 2 X account replied to the creator’s statement with a “New Juno main alert,”showing confidence in Juno’s abilities and disregarding any suggestion that Juno may be weaker than two established meta heroes.

Some other players expressed their willingness to switch their current main hero for Juno, based on the excitement brought by her new kit showcased in the trailer and her overall appealing aesthetic.

“One player bid farewell to D.VA, stating that they no longer require her assistance and welcoming Juno back home.”

Several other responses also drew comparisons between Juno and D.VA, noting their futuristic appearance and pop vibe. Some also drew similarities to Echo. Furthermore, the robotic hero boasts advanced design and skills that enable her to soar above the battlefield and swiftly navigate while providing healing support to her team.

Some players questioned whether Juno would serve as a direct substitute for certain popular healers in the game, or if she would be better suited as a secondary healer.

“According to another player on social media, it remains to be seen if she will be a fitting replacement for Lucio. It is hoped that she will bring some much-needed variety to the main support role.”

As the wider player base has not yet had the opportunity to use Juno, her power level and position in the meta can only be speculated.

The hero will be available on live servers for a limited time starting on July 19, allowing fans to assess whether Juno will take the place of Mercy, Lucio, or Echo.
