A newly discovered bug in Overwatch 2 allows players to activate all four of their hero’s perks simultaneously, providing an unexpected competitive edge in global matches.

With the arrival of the Season 17 update, Overwatch 2 has introduced several exciting features, including the much-anticipated map voting system and an updated Battle Pass filled with retro 8-bit skins. Additionally, new heroes have been added to Stadium mode, along with numerous balancing adjustments aimed at refining gameplay.

However, the update has also inadvertently led to the emergence of a game-altering bug. Players have reported that they can select all four of their hero’s perks at once, eliminating the need to make difficult choices between them.

Players Discovering the Perk Exploit in Season 17

Shortly after the update went live, members of the Overwatch community began to notice that some players had activated every perk simultaneously. A dedicated Reddit user, ‘stanners14, ’ took to the Practice Range to investigate whether this was a legitimate feature or a sign of cheating.

During their tests, they discovered that, with quick reflexes, players could indeed select both perks during the decision-making phase. Successfully executing this maneuver twice allows players to unlock all four perks, while even a single successful selection results in three perks instead of the standard two. For instance, if playing as Genji, a player could equip Acrobatics, Dragon’s Thirst, Blade Twisting, and Meditation concurrently.

While the ability to use this bug may seem like an advantageous strategy, it is strongly discouraged. Players exploiting this glitch risk being reported by their peers, leading to potential bans from the game.

As one Reddit user cautioned: “Definitely don’t do this in any real game. I’ve only seen this attempted in one match, and most players reported the individual.” Another user added a dire warning: “PSA to anyone considering trying this in a real game: you will face a permanent ban with no chance of appeal if you’re reported.”

As of now, Blizzard has not released any official statement regarding the bug, but players should expect a swift patch to address this issue before it disrupts Ranked mode and the overall gaming experience too severely.
