Exciting hints regarding the next map in Overwatch 2 have emerged, thanks to a newly discovered voiceline exchange between two characters, Lifeweaver and Orisa.
Since its launch, Overwatch 2 has expanded its universe with an impressive array of maps, totaling nearly 50. The most recent maps, Hanaoka and Throne of Anubis, were introduced in August 2024, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of future maps. Now, it seems we may be on the brink of a new revelation.
Could Atlantic Arcology Be the Next Destination?
During the voiceline interaction, Lifeweaver inquires if Orisa has “seen [her] around the arcology.”To this, Orisa responds by mentioning that her creator, Efi, had previously spoken at a conference there. This exchange suggests a meaningful connection to the Atlantic Arcology, a location referenced by several science-minded characters in Overwatch. If this becomes the focal point for the next map, we can expect familiar faces like Lifeweaver and Symmetra to play significant roles.

The Atlantic Arcology isn’t just a passing mention; it has been a part of Overwatch lore for some time. It appears in various forms across the game’s maps, including Midtown and Esperança, where it is indicated as a stop for Hyperloop and Hyper-rail transportation systems.
According to Lifeweaver’s backstory, the Atlantic Arcology serves as “a freestanding and self-sustaining scientific and ecological city in the Atlantic Ocean, free from the governing laws of any nation on the planet.”This location is depicted as having “a massive spire constructed out of durovidro,”an innovative and sturdy transparent material detailed in the book, Overwatch: Declassified.

Blizzard has previously shown interest in underwater environments, illustrated by the temporary community-made map Talantis. While there is currently no official information about the gameplay modes for this potential new map or its underwater setting, Talantis introduced captivating gameplay elements that could be effectively integrated into a new map design.
