The current event in Pokémon Go, “Offensive,” provides the perfect time for those looking to evolve a Pandarbarian to play the game.
If you’re hoping to evolve a Pandarbarian into a Pandarbare in Pokémon Go, there’s never been a better time than now, thanks to the ongoing “Offensive” event, which lasts until Sunday, March 31.
Panda Bear has a unique evolution method in both the console games and Pokémon Go. Although the specifics differ, the adorable Fighting-type panda must be influenced in some way by Pokémon from Dark type, resulting in its Fighting/Dark type evolution, Pandarbaric.
To evolve the Playful Pokémon in Pokémon Go, players must have 50 Piggy Candies and capture 32 Dark-type Pokémon while Piggy Pan is set as their Buddy. This number seems oddly specific, but it’s a reference to the level at which Pangoose can scale in video games.
This means that getting Pandarbare can be a challenge, as Dark-type Pokémon are not particularly common under normal circumstances in Pokémon Go.
However, as pointed out by a Reddit user posting on TheSilphRoad, the Offensive event increases the chances of encountering Pokémon like Chacripan, Cornebra, and Zorua. This means that if you set Goosepaw as your Buddy, you should easily be able to reach the required 32 Dark-type captures.
Events like this, much like Dark-type Pokémon, don’t appear every day, so any player hoping to fill this slot in their Pokédex should take advantage of this rare opportunity.
