The developers of Modern Warfare 3 released an update on January 11 which aims to make changes to the spawns of certain maps, fixes of various bugs as well as modifications of important elements for the quality of life.

User interface
Bug fixes
- Adjusted several accessory descriptions to better reflect their actual effects.
- Fixed issues causing the player to be returned to the multiplayer menu unexpectedly in several scenarios, including:
- Consultation of the post-game report
- Equipping a Conversion Kit on a Weapon Blueprint
- Using accessory filters
- Fixed an issue causing the incorrect weapon model to be displayed when selecting a blueprint in the Armory.
Gameplay
- Weapon check animations will no longer trigger when respawning in small map playlists.

Progression
- Fixed unlock requirements displayed for Shuriken (Equipment).
- Fixed unlock requirements displayed for several Accessories:
- Crosse Ravage-10
- Rival-9 Compensator Muffler
- Camouflages de MW2
- Fixed an issue where some players were unable to progress through MW2 Weapon Camouflage Challenges after the Season 1 update.
Cards
- Afghan
- Added additional spawn points to improve the quality of Team Deathmatch and Domination games.
- Invasion
- Increased Operator lighting to correct poor visibility in certain areas.
- Adjusted spawns to avoid unnecessary respawn changes when the Bus Station (P3) capture point is active in Strategic Point.
- Meat
- Adjusted spawns to prevent players in the Garage from killing enemies when they respawn.
- Rust
- Improved spawn selection quality.
- Sporeyard
- Players can no longer get stuck respawning in Storage.
- Terminal
- Adjusted spawn points near Safety to prevent unfavorable spawn conditions in Team Deathmatch and Domination.
Modes
- Weapon game
- Removed a filler image found in the Stats tab of the scoreboard.
- Operation Spearhead (Guerre)
- Dropping supplies (Combat Upgrade) will no longer destroy the tank or cause a stalemate.

- Once unlocked, the Ettin Conversion Kit accessory can now be equipped.
- WSP-9
- Incompatible hybrid goggle accessories can no longer be equipped.

- Once unlocked, the Beholder JAK Rifle Conversion Kit accessory can now be equipped.
Equipment
- Butterfly Mine (Tactical)
- Reduced explosive damage to 1 to avoid lethality in Hardcore.
- Note: This change does not apply to traditional modes.
