It has been officially confirmed that Peacemaker Season 2 will feature an alternate reality known as ‘Earth X.’ With this revelation, it’s essential to delve into the implications for major characters in the storyline—most notably, Superman. Spoilers ahead…

Leading up to Episode 6, the alternate universe appeared idyllic. Chris enjoyed a loving relationship with his father, his brother was alive, and Harcourt was in love with him. Additionally, Peacemaker was not responsible for the death of Rick Flag Jr.

However, as predicted, the dark undercurrent of this world has emerged: it is, indeed, Earth X, a twisted alternate reality where the Nazis emerged victorious in World War II.

In this grim landscape, all heroes are aligned with this ideology, and figures such as the Top Trio are celebrated as champions. The question arises: what does this imply for significant characters, particularly Superman?

Will ‘Peacemaker’ Introduce Overman from Earth X?

As of now, Peacemaker has not yet introduced any parallel counterparts to other prominent DC Universe characters, such as Lex Luthor or Rick Flag. Yet, with the show’s direction confirmed as Earth X, the potential for a surprising Superman cameo becomes excitingly plausible.

In the comic series, Earth X is home to its own version of Superman, known as Overman (or Kal-L).His backstory mirrors that of Superman but with a significant twist: instead of landing in Kansas, he arrives in Sudetenland. This fateful landing propels him to become the formidable ‘hero’ guiding the Fourth Reich.

As articulated in the comics, Overman’s origin speaks volumes about his character: “My rocket from Krypton arrived in a field in the occupied Sudetenland in 1938. German rocket scientists retro-engineered the technology Herr Hitler used to win the war, and I… I and my kind inherited a Utopia built on human suffering. Mine is not any world you know.”

Speculation is rampant that David Corenswet may appear in Season 2, particularly after John Cena shared a selfie with him on set. Additionally, James Gunn hinted at “one really, really, really big cameo near the end of the show.”

Importantly, Corenswet’s portrayal of a traditional Superman remains possible; if Chris returns to his original universe, having the iconic hero there to welcome him back could create a poignant moment. Yet, the thought of witnessing Corenswet embody a sinister version of Superman would undoubtedly add a chilling dimension to the series, albeit briefly.

As one fan expressed excitement about the potential for Corenswet as Overman, they stated, “It’ll be peak if we see David Corenswet as Overman in the finale.” Another commented, “This is gonna sound crazy but hear me out, I need an Overman appearance in Peacemaker so f**king bad.”
