The Peach Girl anime, which is based on Miwa Ueda’s original manga, continues to be highly praised for its portrayal of high school love triangles, friendships, and betrayal. It centers around Momo Adachi and her challenges with self-perception and relationships.

A significant aspect of the Peach Girl anime centers on Momo’s intricate love life, which revolves around her enduring feelings for Kazuya “Toji”Toujigamori and her developing relationship with Kairi Okayasu. As Momo navigates the tumultuous terrain of high school romances throughout the series, many fans speculate on whether she ultimately ends up with Kairi by the end of the anime.

Exploring the Relationship between Momo and Kairi at the End of the Peach Girl Anime

Although their relationship was uncertain throughout the series, Momo Adachi and Kairi Okayasu eventually became a couple in the finale of the Peach Girl anime, much to the satisfaction of their supporters who had been hoping for them to end up together.

Throughout the majority of the series, Momo finds herself caught in a love triangle between Kairi, her middle school crush, and Toji, her first boyfriend. In addition, she must navigate the complicated dynamics with her high school best friend, Sae Kashiwagi, who is also her biggest rival.

At the beginning of the series, Momo Adachi was a beautiful but frequently misinterpreted high school student because of her tanned complexion and dyed hair. This led to the creation of numerous absurd speculations and gossip about her.

Despite this, it was actually Momo’s self-proclaimed best friend, Sae, who started all of these rumors. Sae was envious of Momo and constantly plotted to sabotage her happiness. She only pretended to be friends with Momo in order to prevent her from getting close to Toji.

However, the dynamic between Momo and Kairi started with yet another miscommunication. This occurred when Momo purposely deceived Sae by claiming to have romantic feelings for Kairi.

As a result, a wave of new rumors began circulating that Momo had gotten into a fight with a group of girls from the “Kairi Fan Club.”Fueling the speculation, Kairi claimed that two years prior, he and Momo had shared a kiss. This supposedly occurred after Momo had saved Kairi from drowning and performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Therefore, in order to make the rumors a reality, Kairi makes the decision to pursue Momo and ultimately steal a kiss from her, despite her ongoing interest in Toji. As the story progresses, the love triangle between the three becomes increasingly convoluted. Following a series of betrayals and heartbreaks, Momo ultimately chooses to remain with Toji in episode 24 of the Peach Girl anime.

Despite finally being with the person she had loved for so long, Momo’s heart was still not fixated on Toji. During their date, all she could think about was Kairi, causing her to doubt her decision to be with Toji.

In the last installment of the Peach Girl anime, Kairi accompanies Sae to Shiranami in an attempt to come to terms with his feelings for Momo. However, during their visit, he accidentally misplaces the phone case that Momo had crafted for him and frantically searches for it. Meanwhile, Sae takes advantage of Kairi’s absence and uses his phone to send a concerning message to Momo, falsely claiming that he plans to take his own life at Shiranami.

After receiving the text, Momo comes to the realization of her true feelings for Kairi and confesses her love for him, realizing that she loves him more than Toji. Despite the dangerous typhoon, she desperately rushes to Shiranami and discovers Kairi struggling to stay afloat while holding onto his phone case amidst the massive waves.

Luckily, she was able to save him and revive him with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, ultimately saving his life. Following this, the two expressed their love for each other and shared a passionate kiss, concluding the Peach Girl anime. Although there is no continuation to the series, fans of the pair can take comfort in knowing that Momo and Kairi eventually tied the knot in the Peach Girl Next manga.
