Netflix has recently revealed that Cillian Murphy will be reprising his role as Tommy Shelby in a film adaptation of their highly praised series Peaky Blinders. The streaming platform announced the news on June 4, stating: “Tommy Shelby returns. A Peaky Blinders Film starring Cillian Murphy is coming to Netflix” .
It is uncertain whether the upcoming film will be titled A Peaky Blinders Film or if that is simply a working title for the movie.
The post also features a touching quote from Murphy, in which he expressed, “It feels as though Tommy Shelby was not yet done with me… I am deeply honored to be working again with the incredibly talented Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the upcoming film adaptation of Peaky Blinders. Release date for the Peaky Blinders Movie
According to Deadline Hollywood, production for Netflix’s Peaky Blinders is scheduled to start later this year, and a release date has not yet been announced.

Although specific plot details and additional cast members have not yet been revealed, Steven Knight disclosed to Deadline that the film is taking place during the chaotic era of World War II.
Knight expressed his excitement for the upcoming film, stating that it will be a thrilling addition to the Peaky Blinders story. He promised that it will be an explosive chapter, with no holds barred and a full-on war.
When Tom Harper first directed Peaky Blinders more than a decade ago, the future success of the series was uncertain. However, he recognized an explosive energy in the combination of the cast and writing that hinted at its potential.

With a larger budget and the knowledge that this will be the end of our journey, we are all determined to give our absolute best.”
The streaming site is reportedly developing two separate spinoffs at the same time, both featuring characters from the crime drama.
One centers on the Shelby gang and their actions in Boston, while the other is a prequel that delves into the backstory of Polly Gray, the character portrayed by Helen McCrory.

“Peaky Blinders is a period crime drama television series that was created by Steven Knight. It is set in Birmingham, England and centers around the Shelby crime family and their leader, Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy), in the aftermath of World War I.”
