Petals of Reincarnation: Anime Adaptation in the Works!

On Thursday, August 1, 2024, Mag Garden revealed that they would be creating an anime adaptation of Mikihisa Konishi’s action manga series, Petals of Reincarnation. The company also released a special teaser visual for the upcoming anime and a commemorative PV in celebration of the manga’s 10th anniversary.

No additional information was disclosed for the anime, including its release date, cast and staff, or production company. The manga, created by Mikihisa Konishi, debuted in May 2014 in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Blade magazine. In September 2014, it was moved to the Comic Blade website. Currently, the manga has 19 tankobon volumes available.

Petals of Reincarnation: Production Begins for New Anime Series

On August 1, 2024, Mag Garden released a promotional video and teaser visual to announce the upcoming production of an anime adaptation of Mikihisa Konishi’s action manga series, Petals of Reincarnation. The official staff also launched a new website to share the PV and visual with fans simultaneously.

In addition to announcing the production of the Petals of Reincarnation anime, the brief clip also commemorates the manga’s 10th anniversary. The video showcases various “associates”and their unique abilities, highlighting the important characters from the series.

However, the heroine, Haito Le Buffett, is prominently featured in the visual as she holds the powerful “Branch of Reincarnation”blade. This weapon has the ability to reveal one’s hidden talents from their past life by cutting through their flesh. Despite the revealing visual, no other information such as the cast and staff, production company, or release date has been disclosed.

After the news of an anime adaptation was released, the Petals of Reincarnation anime’s official website posted a celebratory visual of Haito drawn by Mikihisa Konishi along with a comment.

The mangaka is extremely grateful for the news that his series will be adapted into an anime. He has expressed his thanks to his readers for their continuous support, and he has also extended his gratitude to the staff who will be working on the anime.

The author mentioned that he could only offer the production team the settings and additional materials that were not included in the manga. He has entrusted the remaining aspects to the production team and eagerly anticipates the anime adaptation.

About the Plot of Petals of Reincarnation Anime

The storyline of the Petals of Reincarnation anime centers around Toya Senji, a high school student who constantly compares himself to his genius older brother and belittles his own talents. The manga, written and illustrated by Mikihisa Konishi, serves as the basis for the series.

Senji’s aspiration is to achieve greatness and gain recognition. His wish comes true when he reunites with an old classmate from high school, Haito Le Buffett, who had been absent for a long time. Senji discovers that Haito possesses the “Branch of Reincarnation,”a tool that allows her to tap into her talents from previous lives. In her past lives, Haito was known as the legendary swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi.

Additionally, she discloses that utilizing the blade results in a person becoming a “Returner,”someone reborn with abilities from their previous lives. Toya Senji discovers that there exists an abundance of these “Returners,”all of whom possess grand aspirations due to their exceptional talents.
