The renowned chef behind the internet sensation Pink Sauce, Chef Pii, has announced her decision to “move on”with her life following the controversy surrounding her popular condiment in 2022.
After two years since her Pink Sauce caused a buzz on the internet, Veronica Shaw, also known as Chef Pii, is reconsidering her career as a content creator focused on food.
On May 20, 2024, the influencer shared a video on her YouTube channel titled, ‘Where I Been.’ In the video, she discussed several significant changes that have occurred in her life and outlined her future plans.
“In 2023, she confessed, I was struggling with a deep depression. I found myself withdrawing from others frequently. However, I have since redirected my energy into personal growth. I have dedicated a lot of time to researching ways to reinvent myself. I have been pondering my passions and where I see myself going in the future.”
Shaw has stated her intention to prioritize YouTube as her main platform, even though she rose to fame through TikTok. Additionally, she aspires to create longer content instead of her usual short-form videos, and she remains unfazed by any negative feedback regarding her Pink Sauce incident from two years ago.
Shaw expressed her eagerness to move forward in life, stating, “I am ready to leave behind all negativity. I have no tolerance for trolls. Any unnecessary comments or discussions about past events from two years ago will not be acknowledged.”
Furthermore, she hinted at significant changes that will be implemented on her official Pink Sauce website, announcing that she has returned to operating as a small business rather than being in a partnership with Dave’s Gourmet.
“The pace has slowed down since it’s a small business once again, and I’m handling everything by myself. However, it’s manageable and we’re still making sales and operating as usual.”

In 2022, Pink Sauce, a hot-pink concoction created by professional chef and influencer Veronica Shaw, also known as ‘Chef Pii,’ flooded TikTok.
Despite her creation going viral, Chef Pii decided to sell the sauce online from her home. However, customers began to notice several potential issues with the condiment, with some complaining that it had spoiled during shipping in the summer heat.
Following backlash from netizens, Chef Pii’s sauce received a major opportunity when Dave’s Gourmet chose to distribute it at Walmart stores nationwide.
Despite her lucrative deal with Dave’s in August 2023, the influencer claimed she was completely broke, stating she was surviving on only “20$ a day”and accusing the company of taking everything from her and lying to her.
Dave’s Gourmet responded by stating that they had already paid Shaw $120K and had consistently made all payments according to the agreed upon terms of the contract.
Since their separation, Chef Pii has returned to being a small business owner as her Pink Sauce venture faced significant challenges while in the spotlight.
