Apple has officially announced the launch of the AirPods Pro 3, set to release on September 20 at a price of $249. This new model brings a host of enhanced audio features, extended battery life, and a revamped charging case, marking it as the most significant upgrade since the debut of the Pro line in 2019.
The newest AirPods Pro introduce an innovative feature called Adaptive Audio. This technology seamlessly combines Transparency Mode with Active Noise Cancellation, dynamically adjusting to shifting sound environments for a more fluid auditory experience.
Apple has confirmed that customers will be able to purchase the AirPods Pro 3 through its online store as well as retail locations globally starting on the launch date.
Introducing the Heart Rate Sensor
While maintaining a design similar to previous models, the AirPods Pro 3 now come equipped with an advanced Heart Rate sensor. According to Apple, this new sensor utilizes invisible infrared light pulsating at 256 times per second to assess light absorption related to blood flow, allowing for accurate heart rate measurements while in use.

The AirPods Pro 3 are powered by Apple’s latest H2 chip, enhancing sound processing capabilities, optimizing spatial audio, and improving overall efficiency. With a redesigned acoustic driver and amplifier, users can enjoy deeper bass as well as clearer mids and highs, leading to an elevated listening experience.
Battery performance has also seen a significant upgrade, offering up to eight hours of playback on a single charge, an increase from the previous generation’s six hours. When using the charging case, total listening time extends to an impressive 36 hours. The new charging case now incorporates USB-C connectivity, features Precision Finding through the Find My app, and boasts improved dust resistance.
The development of the AirPods Pro 3 has been a long journey, especially since the release of its predecessor in 2022. Speculation surrounding the inclusion of a new sensor has been rife, and this unveiling confirms those rumors.
