Season 2, Episode 4 of Beast Games has officially premiered on Prime Video, and one particular choice made by Player 21, known as Ethan Healy, has stirred significant conversation among fans.
The show kicked off with its first three episodes, introducing a diverse group of 100 contestants vying for a remarkable grand prize of $5 million. Throughout the competition, various gameplay opportunities, such as the Captain’s Bribe, enable contestants to win additional money, exemplified by one player who secured $1 million at the expense of their teammates.

Player 21’s Shocking Withdrawal: Reasons Behind the Decision
In Episode 4, Player 21 made the surprising decision to withdraw from the Get a Grip challenge after accepting a hefty $50, 000 bribe from MrBeast. This choice has left many viewers puzzled, especially considering the possibility of winning a luxurious $1.8 million vacation home on the island.
The crossover aspect involves the last 10 players competing on Survivor Island in a series of games with no risk of elimination from the overall competition. Only one contestant will ultimately walk away with the island’s prize.
After the initial relay challenge, the number of players was narrowed down from ten to five, leading to the endurance test, Get a Grip, where competitors must cling to a pole for as long as possible. The final two participants will then face a Tribal Council, where the remaining contestants will vote on who deserves the island.
The first to drop out were Player 162 (Tyler) and Player 118 (Nick), leaving Player 566 (JC), Player 148 (Ian), and Player 21 (Ethan) to continue competing. Astoundingly, while Ian and JC appeared to struggle, Ethan maintained a notably firm grip on the pole.
Taking the bribe dramatically shifted the stakes. Although accepting it disqualified him from vying for the luxury island, Ethan was persuaded by Ian and JC to take the secured cash instead. Another commentator expressed frustration, stating, “For real the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen, ” while a third questioned the logic behind accepting only $50, 000 when faced against opponents like JC, who had a reputation for previous deceit in Season 1.
A notable observation was raised regarding Ethan’s earlier refusal of a $100, 000 bribe during an initial challenge, where contestants could opt to self-exclude in exchange for cash.
“Bro declined 100K to eliminate himself, yet accepted 50K when he had a chance of 33.3%, and a clear 100% chance of success against JC, who he could definitely beat, ” one user noted.
Conversely, some viewers offered more sympathetic interpretations of Ethan’s decision. One remarked, “I think he just couldn’t believe that he had a strong chance at the island and convinced himself that $50, 000 was a fair outcome, ” leading to another commenter suggesting, “Imposter syndrome at its finest.”
Others pointed out that Ethan might have anticipated facing Ian, who has a compelling backstory, making him more likely to receive voting support in the final decision.“He probably thought he would be up against Ian and considered his qualifying story to be less impactful, ” one participant commented. Ultimately, it’s still possible for Ethan to claim the coveted $5 million prize.

Ethan has taken to social media to promote his participation in Beast Games Season 2, sharing an Instagram post. The first update, posted on December 11, expresses his excitement: “I am so excited to finally announce that I am contestant #21 on Season 2 of Beast Games on Prime Video.”
In his second post, dated January 10, he wrote, “175 down, 24 more to outlast. I am locked IN, but my intelligent allies are dropping one by one…”
According to his LinkedIn profile, Ethan is a chess coach at Magnus Chess Academy, which provides both online and in-person classes, camps, and tournaments for young chess enthusiasts. Previously, he worked as an academic tutor and undertook a software engineering internship.
