Pokémon Fans Are Obsessed With This Alternative Net Ball Concept

Pokémon players are loving new fan concepts for alternatives to the Net Ball, which would allow them to capture a wider variety of Pokémon in the overworld.

While most Pokémon fans are familiar with the Poké Ball, Super Ball, Hyper Ball, and Master Ball (especially from their use in Pokémon Go), there are tons of variations in the series, but they have variations. uses so specific that most players don’t even bother to use them.

The strange thing is that some Poké Ball concepts have natural counterparts that have never been used. There is the Moon Ball, which works best on Pokémon that evolve using a Moon Stone, but there is no equivalent Poké Ball for the Sun Stone.

Then you have the Net Ball, which, as its name suggests, is more effective at capturing Bug or Water-type Pokémon. It was introduced in Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, but it never received variants that affected their types.

Pokémon Players Love Fan-Created Filet Ball Variations

A user on the Pokémon Reddit named sdrey created concepts for different Poké Balls that act similarly to the Net Ball, except that they focus on different types of Pokémon. These Poké Balls would cover all types in the game, not just Bug and Water.

“The Magnet Ball is my favorite. I could definitely use it. The Combat Ball looks sharp. Like I wouldn’t want to keep it in my pocket,” one user wrote, while another said, “I like that this opens the door to Pokémon specific balls. I like the Thorn Ball the most.”

“We need more balls!” said one user, “It’s weird to me that they stopped with the ones we have for several generations. Arceus introduced some new retro balls, which was cool, but they don’t transfer into SV as far as I know. I’m definitely all for more capture options.”

Some users have taken issue with some of the designs, “The Thorn and Combat Balls seem to hurt to hold, throw or be hit by. Maybe we can find a way to soften them?” one user wrote, and another said, “Some of these balls seem painful to hold even though they look cool.”

The Pokémon series could definitely use more Poké Ball designs. Seems like there’s a lot of scope for introducing new ones, as many of the current ones (like the Moon Ball) are so specific that you’d never think to use them.
