Season 2 of Reacher has captivated fans week after week. So why isn’t Jack Reacher back for another thrilling episode?
Even if Jack Reacher concluded his investigation in episode 8, entitled “Bye Bye Birdie” , the question remains rather legitimate: is there really no more room for the imposing hero played by Alan Ritchson to distribute the justice with fists in the mouth?
And what about Jack’s romance with Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan)? Unfortunately, none of that is planned, as Reacher Season 2 Episode 9 won’t air tonight – or ever, for that matter. But why?
Why isn’t Reacher Season 2 Episode 9 airing this week?
Reacher Season 2 Episode 9 is not airing this week… because Season 2 ended with Episode 8.
While an eight-episode chapter may seem short for such an imposing hero, keep in mind that Reacher’s first season was just as brief. Anyway, season 2 is officially over, and we will have to wait for the release of season 3 of Reacher for Jack’s next adventure.
The good news is that said season 3 of Reacher is currently in the middle of filming, to adapt volume 7 of the wise novel written by Lee Child, Never Forgive (or Persuade in the original version).
In the book, Jack Reacher teams up with the DEA to take down a drug dealer. The first two seasons having faithfully adapted the Jack Reacher novels, we can expect the plot to take up many points from Never Forgive.
Exactly when these new episodes will be available remains a mystery at this point. Given the production schedule for season 3 of Reacher, it is possible that the series will return in December 2024 (if we follow the schedule for season 2 in December 2023).
That said, Prime Video could also decide to postpone season 3 until the beginning of 2025. Although this is the option least expected by fans, it would nevertheless correspond to the release of the first season in February 2022.
