Despite the introduction of paid PokeCoin Field Research, the Pokemon Go community remains unimpressed and has deemed the quest to be lackluster at best.
Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, has recently announced a new method for players to acquire PokeCoins in the popular mobile game. However, this latest move has sparked frustration among fans.
On May 8, 2024, players will have the option to go to the in-game store and buy a newly added $2 ticket known as “Daily PokeCoin Field Research.”
Trainers who purchase this ticket will be able to receive daily rewards of 20 PokeCoins from May 16, 2024 to May 30, 2024. According to the ticket in the game, this will result in a total of 280 PokeCoins for players.
In addition, players were required to have an open Field Research upon logging in as stipulated by the ticket.
The demand from fans for this ticket was immediate, with some describing it as “underwhelming”and others deeming it a “joke.”
“Let me get this straight, you’re receiving 80 additional coins compared to purchasing two sets of 100 coins for $1.99, right? And it’s necessary to consistently log-in and complete the research every day? That doesn’t seem very exciting,”stated a fan.
Some players in different regions were even less interested in the ticket due to the varying prices in certain countries. For instance, a player from Canada highlighted that the ticket was priced at $3.13 after tax in their area.
Some individuals expressed concern over the requirement that trainers have ample space to redeem the ticket, fearing that they may miss out on rewards if they are not cautious.
A fan on TheSilphRoad subreddit argued that the most frustrating aspect of this situation is the lack of certainty in receiving the research. They expressed their disappointment with the requirement to have space for research on a daily basis, especially considering the purchase of a PAID ticket.
It goes without saying that the community has responded negatively to the PokeCoin ticket. Although the purchase is entirely optional, the announcement has raised concerns among trainers about setting a negative precedent for the future of Pokemon Go.
