The most recent event of Pokemon Go has left fans feeling disappointed due to the increase of filler tasks that have started to negatively impact their gameplay. As a result, many players have reached their limit.
Pokemon Go presents a common problem found in MMO games, as it continuously depletes the player’s in-game resources in order to encourage them to continue playing. These resources are used up when trying to capture wild Pokemon and when recovering from battles, requiring the player to constantly replenish them.
The tasks available in Pokemon Go research can provide valuable items, depending on the level of time and effort needed to complete them. Living near a PokeStop may make these tasks unnecessary in certain situations.
Completing the special research tasks during the Glitz and Glam event can be particularly frustrating if they require more resources than you can earn back. However, it is worth the effort as it will not only unlock an encounter with Diancie, but also provide you with some of its Mega Energy.
The issue, as has been debated by fans on online forums, is that certain tasks offer unsatisfactory rewards. For instance, two tasks require players to power up weaker Pokemon, with one only offering 3 Pinap Berries for powering up 20 Pokemon and the other giving just 10 Great Balls for powering up 25 Pokemon.
The value of the rewards for completing these tasks is lower than the amount of Stardust needed to power up the Pokemon. This is because Great Balls and Pinap Berries are frequently obtained from PokeStops, Gifts, and tasks.
One player proposed creating a tag for Pokemon that should be powered up in the future, allowing them to be saved for events like this and achieving two goals at once. It can be argued whether the effort is worth the potential rewards.
It is understandable that not all goals in Pokemon Go will be exhilarating, but they should still provide a worthwhile reward for the player’s time. While powering up a group of Pokemon can be time-consuming, receiving only a few berries or Poke Balls in return does not justify the effort, as it simply keeps the player mindlessly engaged in the game world.
