Pokémon Go players are calling on Niantic to make a big change to the current egg system, as they believe Pokémon that hatch eggs are not good enough.
Eggs in Pokémon Go are a core feature designed to reward players for moving. There are 2km, 5km, 10km, and 12km eggs that hatch once a trainer has traveled the appropriate distance.
These eggs can contain rare Pokémon like Pyronille, Galarian Darumarond and Frigodo, but more frequently hatch common Pokémon like Pichu, Debugant and Excelangue. This has drawn criticism from Pokémon Go players who are demanding upgrades for 12km eggs.
Now, these complaints have resurfaced, but this time they focus on the entire egg mechanic, which trainers believe needs improvement.

Frustrated with the current state of eggs in Pokémon Go, one frustrated trainer took to Reddit to express, “I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way,”with a message accompanied by a classic meme.

The meme jokes that the idea of putting better Pokémon in eggs is beyond Niantic’s capabilities, with the developer instead considering “More hatching events”and “More incubators in boxes”as a means of selling Egg Incubators.
The post was popular with other trainers who described the eggs as “so crap recently”, and insisted that the 7, 10 and 12 km eggs are “all so crap”.
Exceltongue proved particularly unpopular, with comments losing it to the Lick Pokémon, “If I get one more damn Exceltongue, I swear to God I’m going to freak out”, and “It was thrown away because that the boss simply adores Excelangue and Pohm.»
Seeking to offer a solution, one player replied: “They could also allow egg transfer. I’m tired of 5 km eggs because I have all the shiny ones, which would at least allow Pokémon Go fans to get rid of eggs they no longer need.
Another trainer suggested: “I’m honestly shocked at how poor the egg system is. It should be RNG heaven for them, but they’re so limited. Adding a 0.01% chance of getting a popular Pokémon would significantly increase players’ interest in eggs in general.»
The idea of eggs being a roulette mechanic was supported by several responses, with the community believing that the allure of potentially hatching a large Pokémon would justify the investment required.
