A Pokémon Go player and his son accomplished the impossible by only encountering shiny Pokémon during the five appearances caused by a Lure Module, and fans can’t believe it!
Finding shiny Pokémon in Pokémon Go is never an easy task, as these Pokémon are extremely rare, making them arguably the most sought-after catches for trainers.
When hunting for shinys, trainers can check for regular wild spawns in their location, and even use items like Incense and Lure Modules on PokéStops to trigger additional spawns around them for 30 minutes.
So when a player’s young child used a Lure Module to catch event Pokémon during the 2024 Lunar New Year event, what happened next was unheard of in the community.

A Reddit user named “dmglakewood” wrote: “My 7 year old son’s shiny haul from a single 30 minute lure yesterday is crazy” in a post while sharing a screenshot of the shinys caught during the five appearances of the Lure Module.

The author added more details in the comments section. “We have a PokéStop that we can reach from our house. Before going out for the feature hour, I let him place a lure on the PokéStop,” he wrote before adding, “It seemed like every Pokémon he pressed was shiny.”
Pokémon Go players have praised the lucky young kid’s incredible haul of shinys, as getting every appearance of the Lure Module is unbelievable for many. Users commented: “This is crazy, too bad he’s too young for the lottery!” and “Buy this kid a lottery ticket.”
One player wrote: “This is insane. I’m level 47 with 97,000 captures and I literally have none of those,” to which another replied: “I’m level 45 (65,000 captures) and I’m in the same situation except for Gourmelet. What’s even crazier is that he only saw 32 Venalgue, two of which were shiny (even in a row).”
The shiny versions of Venalgue, Gourmelet and Paras are extremely rare and highly coveted by Pokémon Go fans, so they were particularly impressed by the captures, calling the child a “legend” .
If that wasn’t already amazing, the author also mentioned that his son was actively looking for a shiny Magikarp and, although he didn’t find it, the author did and commented: “I will exchange it on his account. He’s going to be so happy when he plays again and sees his shiny fish.” Others called it “touching.”
