Guaranteed shiny Mythics are available through paid Master Research quests in Pokémon Go, but players have one major concern regarding these valuable catches.
Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are some of the most powerful and sought-after catches in Pokémon Go. While most Legendaries can be captured by defeating 5-star Raids, some are also available in the wild.
However, capturing Mythics is an entirely different game since they are exclusively available through Special Research quests. That’s not all, because Pokémon Go players can even obtain guaranteed Mythical shinys, through a long and exhausting Master Research.
While fans are undoubtedly happy with these assured shiny captures, there is still a huge problem with these shiny Mythics that has made players feel like the grind isn’t worth it.
A Reddit user named ‘Brewdad69’ wrote, “The betrayal is real”in a post where they showed off their shiny low-IV Jirachi obtained from Wish Granted Master Research.
The author of the post expressed disappointment at the terrible stats after working on the quest for a year, prompting several other players in the comments section, who had similar experience.
Users said they also got bad stats in other Mythics, while some claimed they decided to stop spending money in the game after getting a 2-star shiny Mew.
This prompted another comment: “Getting a 2-star shiny via paid tickets shouldn’t be possible” while many mentioned that it “hurts” to get such low IVs after the rigorous grinding involved.
But, it seems that those playing Pokémon Scarlet and Purple have found a way to make the most of these captured shiny Mythicals in Pokémon Go. “Send it to Pokémon Home and now you have a level 20 Jirachi to use very early in Switch games,” explained one trainer.
The minimum possible stats for these shiny Mythics are 10/10/10 and players find it “disappointing” that the chances of finding one with high stats are ridiculously low, after spending so much time and money.
Even someone who has been playing since the beginning commented: “I’m a lifelong player. In all these years, I have yet to capture a perfect Mythic/Legendary.”
