Pokemon Go players decide to not hunt new shiny before its release

Despite still having weeks before it goes live, Pokemon Go players have already made the decision to “pass”on the opportunity to hatch a shiny Larvesta during the upcoming event.

Pokemon Go has just revealed that their upcoming event, Scorching Steps, will showcase the highly anticipated shiny Larvesta for the first time.

Currently, coming across Larvesta in the game is quite a rare occurrence, making catching or hatching them a huge undertaking due to their scarcity.

The Generation V Bug/Fire-type Pokemon is an excellent addition to any team, especially for its strong attack abilities. However, hatching one may prove to be a challenge.

Despite the fact that the event is not set to begin until June 21, 2024, players have already made the decision to forgo attempting to obtain a shiny Larvesta due to the highly unlikely odds.

The Torch Pokemon can be obtained by hatching 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km Eggs. However, due to the low chance of hatching a shiny Larvesta (less than one percent), players are not confident in their ability to obtain one.

Pokemon players on Reddit have collectively made the decision to give up on hunting for Shiny Larvesta. One user expressed their lack of enthusiasm by stating, “I am eagerly anticipating not even hatching a single regular one from the event eggs.”

Another person commented, “Seriously. I am still unable to obtain a Larvesta despite constantly hatching eggs.”

Another person confirmed that, due to the difficulty of hatching Larvesta, they have chosen not to participate in the new hatching event.

“Considering the low odds of hatching a Larvesta, I think I’ll pass on attempting it. I haven’t been lucky enough to hatch a Chardacet yet, which is a much more common hatch. I acquired a Larvesta a year ago and I still only have about half of the candies needed to evolve it. Trying to find a shiny version of this Pokémon is not even worth considering.”

The recent backlash against including Larvesta in an egg-hatching event stems from the community’s criticism of similar events being labeled as a “scam.”

For the time being, players will have to take their chances if they want to obtain a sparkling Larvesta during the upcoming event in June 2024.
