Pokemon Go players demand Niantic revert new update after getting community noted on X

Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding Avatar changes in Pokemon GO, Niantic’s X post showcasing a specific Avatar feature was met with negative reception.

Niantic recently shared images on their Twitter post showcasing the new eye color options available in Pokemon GO. The post stated that players now have the ability to customize their eye color with the latest Avatar update.

Despite its intention to promote the recent Avatar changes in the game, the post received backlash from players who left comments and a Community Note labeling it as misleading.

This is because the ability to change the player’s Avatar eye color has always been a part of the game’s features, rather than a newly added feature as stated in the original post.

Despite the limited number of eye color options in the past, this does not make the feature any less old. Coupled with the negative reception of the recent Avatar changes, fans expressed their disappointment and urged Niantic to undo the alterations in the comments section.

“One player commented, “Roll. It. Back. It literally is THAT bad.”Another player stated that the new update was not requested and even referred to it as a huge failure. Advertising the update only exacerbates the issue, according to the first player.”

They suggested, “Perhaps you should return to using the old avatars until you have given them the same level of attention as the new backgrounds. Those are truly impressive. The avatars are not up to par.”

“Another individual expressed disappointment in the recent avatar update from Niantic, suggesting that they should instead return to the 2016 avatar and prioritize creating more customizable options. They urged Niantic to consider the feedback of the Pokémon GO Community and make the necessary changes.”

The latest Avatar updates have received a significant amount of negative feedback from the community. Many players have expressed their dissatisfaction with the changes, calling them “unappealing”and “awful.”The significant changes to the art have also sparked complaints about the female character models, with some players feeling that they were weakened in the update.

Despite the uncertainty of future changes from Niantic, it has been confirmed that they are aware of players’ frustrations and are taking them into consideration.
