The final evolutions of some pocket monsters in Pokémon Go leave a lot to be desired, according to players.
Evolving Pokémon in Pokémon Go is a key part of the experience. An evolution can significantly increase a monster’s power by increasing its CP and HP levels. So, having such creatures in their collection is an advantage for all trainers.
But improved power levels aren’t the only benefit of evolving Pokémon. They also change their appearance, sometimes drastically. For example, the charming Charmander appears tiny compared to his evolved, dragon-like form of Charizard.
However, players believe that some evolutions in Pokémon Go do not change physical characteristics enough.
Pokémon Go fans say some final evolutions are disappointing
Reddit user cktyu asked the following question on the Pokémon Go subreddit, “Which Pokémon have anti-climactic final evolutions?”

The user chose Palarticho as their personal choice and shared a screenshot of the creature’s final evolved form. They explained, “I expected Palarticho to evolve into something like Ursaring or Charizard.”
Notably, Palarticho represents the final evolved form of Palarticho, a cute little Electric-type Pokémon that resembles a groundhog squirrel. Much to the dismay of some players, Palarticho seems like a more adult – albeit still adorable – version of his original form.
Dozens of other people joined the conversation to share their thoughts on some of Pokémon Go’s disappointing final evolutions. For example, one Redditor invoked a joke from GTA 5 to comment on Palarticho’s evolution, “It took 2 evolutions to stand properly and get a yeyeye haircut.”
One user criticized Chansey’s transformation, writing, “Anti-climactic from an appearance standpoint – Chansey shiny to Bliss shiny.” Others agreed, calling the development a “disappointment.”
Someone else said that the eventual change from Tic to Cliticlic proved unsatisfactory. “Tic disappointed me a lot. I was really excited to see what it would turn into,” the user said.
Clearly, some final developments will be disappointing once all is said and done.
