Pokemon Go: Testing Player Patience with Diancie Cutscene

The introduction of Diancie in a new Pokemon Go event is causing players to become frustrated and tap their watches as they wait through a long cutscene before the encounter begins.

Despite its design as a mobile game meant to be played in short bursts, Pokemon Go includes time-wasting animations that can become particularly frustrating when they need to be repeated daily.

Thankfully, wild Pokemon encounters typically do not involve long animations, unless they are being captured. Generally, they simply appear on the screen without much fuss.

An example of an exception to this is Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, such as Diancie, which can be found during the Pokemon Go Glitz and Glam event. These creatures often have longer introductions, reflecting their unique status.

Regrettably, it appears that Diancie’s introduction may have been excessively lengthy. As has been debated by fans on various online forums, the 40+ second intro featuring Diancie dancing around was deemed unnecessary, especially for a mobile game designed for on-the-go play.

Despite not reaching the obnoxious levels of “Supernova”or “Knights of the Round”from Final Fantasy VII, the Diancie intro still feels excessively long due to its lack of excitement and constant fiddling about.

The Glitz and Glam event has faced criticism for including tasks that are deemed time-wasting and offering rewards that are less valuable than the Stardust used to complete them.

Fortunately, lengthy introductions for Legendary and Mythical Pokemon in Pokemon Go are not common, so players do not have to endure them frequently. In fact, Diance’s dancing introduction may be the most memorable aspect of the event, as the rest of it follows the typical Pokemon Go format.
