Pokimane Responds to Trolls Criticizing Her for Not Having Children Yet

Twitch sensation Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys is addressing the unwelcome scrutiny and trolling she faces regarding her age and family plans, particularly as she approaches her 30th birthday.

With a decade-long career under her belt, Pokimane has emerged as one of Twitch’s most influential streamers, amassing a staggering 9 million followers. Her contributions have notably shaped the landscape of online broadcasting.

However, fame comes with its challenges, including a stream of disparaging comments from viewers. Recently, these criticisms have focused on her age in relation to motherhood aspirations.

Confronting Age-Related Trolls

At 29, Pokimane is set to celebrate her 30th birthday in May 2026, but that hasn’t stopped trolls from invading her Twitch streams to comment on her age and press for details on her plans for having children. In a candid November 2025 stream, she addressed these comments directly, expressing confusion over why her age and maternal intentions are under constant scrutiny.

“You know, people come in and ask, ‘Why don’t you have kids yet?’ Someone even said I’m ‘pushing 35.’ That’s six years away!” she stated.“It’s strange because I don’t see anything wrong with not wanting children. But I actually do want kids.”

In a light-hearted yet pointed remark, Pokimane compared these trolls to “uterus-watchers, ” paralleling the concept of “pocket-watching, ” where individuals obsessively monitor others’ financial status. She quipped, “Why do you care if there’s a baby in my uterus? Shouldn’t you go find a partner and focus on their uterus instead?”

Pokimane’s experience is not isolated. Similarly, fellow streamer Valkyrae faced ageism when an X user referred to her as “expired” upon her turning 32 in 2024. Valkyrae responded with humor, acknowledging her femininity and aging, and how she would continually encounter comments regarding her suitability for gaming and Halloween attire as she ages.
