Possible Removal of NewJeans from HYBE’s Schedule Amid Controversies?

In June of 2024, HYBE completed the full lineup for its Weverse Con Festival. This highly anticipated annual music festival is known for its large scale and offers fans a special opportunity to connect with their beloved idols.

Since Weverse is a fan-idol interaction platform created by HYBE, the Weverse Con Festival will consistently showcase performances by HYBE’s groups.

The line-up for Weverse Con Festival 2024 has been announced.

The 2024 Weverse Con Festival boasts an impressive lineup, including popular HYBE groups such as SEVENTEEN, LE SSERAFIM, TXT, BOYNEXTDOOR, ENHYPEN, ILLIT, fromis_9, TWS, and &TEAM. In addition, the festival will showcase a diverse range of artists such as 10CM, Kwon Eunbi, the innovative “AI boy group”PLAVE, the iconic Japanese duo YOASOBI, and many others.

Moreover, JYP founder Park Jin-young was referred to as a “Tribute Artist”alongside “special guests”, highlighting the enduring camaraderie between JYP and HYBE founder Bang Si-hyuk that has existed since before the establishment of Big Hit.

As a result, all groups under HYBE, with the exception of NewJeans and BTS who is currently in military service, will be participating in the Weverse Con Festival 2024.

Despite the ongoing conflict between HYBE and NewJeans’ agency ADOR, the full lineup for the event was announced. Some have speculated that NewJeans was not included, but it should be noted that the band did participate in the Weverse Con Festival 2023. This only adds to the suspicion surrounding their absence from this year’s event.

Despite this recent development, the future of NewJeans is causing concern for many, especially due to rumors that the members and their parents are supporting Min Hee-jin instead of HYBE.
